Home Staging as a Business

January 26th, 2009

If you are gifted with an eye for design but you don’t have the money to start your own business, or you do not have the required degree to facilitate a career in designing, you might want to start a Home Staging business instead. Home Staging is close to interior designing except that stagers design homes so that they will be sold easily. The main goal of stagers is to improve the chances of a home to be bought quickly by making the home presentable inside and out.

Starting a Home Staging business will not require you a lot of money to start-up. You may have to spend sufficient funds for your initial materials but rest assured that you will make more money than you spend. You can then use your first Home Staging pay for subsequent staging jobs. You can either charge by the hour or per day; it is all up to you. You are in control of how much you earn from a project plus, you control your own time as well.

I am glad to come across your information on home staging courses. It was overwhelming to surf the net for information, not to mention very expensive. I have always had an eye for design, so this sounds like an exciting career that will enable me to set my own hours and still have time to be a mom. What is the hourly salary and what is the time frame to complete a home staging? How do you market for sales? What training course do you recommend to start with a budget of $500.

If you’ve paid out thousands for a seminar, don’t read this. It will break your heart.

The best selling book at Amazon.Com on the subject of starting a home staging business is called “Home Staging for Profit”. Yes, I’m the author, and I have poured 40 years of experience in staging, redesign, art consultation and home business development into this book for $29.95. While I offer dual certification courses as well, this is a great introduction into the business.
